Lloyd Rees, 1977 aprox
Lloyd Rees (1895 - 1988) was one of Australia's most respected landscape painters. He received a scholarship to the Central Technical College in Brisbane in 1910, where he experienced his first formal art education.
Rees has been the recipient of a number of accolades, including the prestigious award of Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) in 1985.
His work is represented in the Australian National Gallery, Canberra; all State and many regional galleries; the Holmes a Court collection; and many private and university and corporate collections in Australia and overseas.
